For the past few months, Cregle has gone through several business changes. We decide to license iPen technology to our partners to foster market acceptance. We are currently wrapping up our development of licensing module for large display form factor, such as iMac and MacBook. We will have further update coming out soon.

iPen 2 orders are shipping!

December 22, 2014

We are very happy to inform you all that we have begun to ship the iPen 2 (iPad model) to our Kickstarter backers and pre-order customers! However, please note that if you are a pre-order customer or Kickstarter backer who chose the 30-pin iPad model, we will not be able to ship your iPen 2 until you update your chosen model to the iPad 4 model or iPad Air model. If you do not wish to upgrade your iPad to one of these newer iPad models, we will issue a refund to you for your order. For those who wish to have the soon-to-be-released iPad Air 2 model but already placed their order for a different model, please contact and a customer service representative will gladly assist you.

Please note that our current production capacity is limited. Some customers may not receive their iPen at the same time as others do. However, we can assure you that we will be shipping out orders every day and that every customer will receive their order.

Compatible Apps

Regarding iPen 2 supported apps, our Calibrator app and the ibisPaint app are now available in the App Store for public download. We are currently working with several app developers to bring you a wide variety of apps with which you can use the iPen 2. In our Calibrator app, users can view the list of supportive apps in the “App List”. We will update this list whenever a new supportive app is integrated with the iPen 2, and users can view these updates. ZoomNotes has just submitted the integrated version of their app, which should be available for download in approximately a week.

Helpful Tips

Finally, when you receive your iPen 2 and you are ready to start using it, please note that the iPen 2 cannot function when placed under a strong light; this is because the iPen 2 receiver detects the stylus’s movement using a light signal. Under a strong light, the receiver will fail to recognize the stylus’s movement. Under such circumstances, a pop-up window will appear on the screen to notify the user. Despite this minor restriction, we believe that you will be able to enjoy using the iPen 2 without having to worry considerably about being interrupted by external factors.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed and supported us for over a year, we cannot be happier to finally be shipping the iPen 2 to all of you. We owe you all our thanks and gratitude, and we sincerely hope you all love the iPen 2 as much as we do. Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to e-mail us at

FAQ: iPad Air 2 Compatibility

December 12, 2014

We have received many inquiries regarding the iPen 2’s compatibility with the new iPad Air 2; therefore, we would like to keep you all up to date on our production plans and progress related to the Air 2.

We are definitely planning on making the iPen 2 compatible with the iPad Air 2 in the near future; however, because we are still in the process of developing and testing the necessary parts, the iPen 2 will not be fully compatible with the iPad Air 2 by the end of this year.

The necessary part in question is the plastic receiver case, which differs depending on the iPad model being used. As shown in the photo below, the current receiver case built for the first iPad Air does not fit the iPad Air 2 because the Air 2 is 18% thinner than the first iPad Air. For those waiting for the iPad Air 2 receiver to be released, the receiver case for the first iPad Air can be used as a temporary solution while you wait, but again, it will not fit perfectly and may affect the performance of the iPen 2.

Furthermore, there is no need to worry about having to buy a new receiver or a new iPen 2 stylus when we have completed the iPad Air 2 receiver. We will sell the receiver case alone for those who wish to purchase it separately.

We will be sure to notify everyone once we have finalized the release schedule for the Air 2 receiver.

If you have any other Air 2-related questions, please feel free to send us an e-mail and we will gladly answer any questions you might have.

In our previous blog posts, we talked about how tablets and styluses can be used by artists, students, and business men and women alike. However, it would be a mistake to assume that these tools can only be used in these fields. Over the past few years, people across the globe have discovered new and innovative ways to adapt tablets to specific hobbies, careers, and activities.

Scientists, athletes, performance artists, and more have taken the initiative and revolutionized the way in which we think, organize, create, and grow through the use of a single device, such as the iPad. Tablet accessories such as styluses take this progress a step further by increasing the convenience of using tablets and incorporating the best of both modern technology and traditional tools.

Portability is one of the key features of tablets, and enables people to take pictures, record videos, write, and access documents and data easily. Thus, musicians and dancers can record performances, football coaches can analyze games play-by-play as they are happening, and biologists can leave their desktops for the field while still having access to data analysis and storage applications.

The possibilities are endless.

Tablets in the Business World

November 10, 2014

In the corporate world, business executives are constantly on the move. Businessmen and women are often required to travel for business meetings in order to go over logistics with manufacturers, establish partnerships with other companies, or give presentations to clients. All of these activities require the use of numerous documents, diagrams, and notes related to the topic being discussed. For example, a businessman traveling overseas to meet with a potential partner company would have to bring, at minimum, their calendar, notebook or laptop, presentation materials, handouts, relevant documents, writing utensils, their phone, and anything else they might need to successfully present their business ventures and establish a partnership with the other company.

However, with the advent of digital technology and tablet computers, most if not all of these materials can be integrated into one convenient and lightweight device. Tablet computers such as the iPad are being increasingly used by all types of businesses, ranging from companies in the healthcare industry to those in the construction industry. In addition, the invention of electronic styluses has created a fast and more natural way to use tablet computers in a business setting by replicating the familiar feeling of using a pen and paper. Thus, these tools have transformed the business world and are continuing to change the manner in which people engage in commerce.

For more examples of how companies are incorporating tablets and styluses into their daily business practices, check out the following video:
